Local elections March 2010

13 Mar

Nothing surprising in the local BC results. Voter turnout poor, main parties losing ground to smaller parties, smaller parties unable to make up enough ground to make any real difference. I suspect we will see similar stories all cross the country in the General Elections.

How can people protest if they don’t vote. If people voted en masse, politicians would be careful not to make mistakes.

Jose, could not agree more. I feel so dis-heartened when I hear people say they do not vote because nothing ever changes.

If you do not speak then people will not hear your voice. Not voting is like not speaking, no one can hear your voice. I have no idea on how people can be encouraged to vote – but it is sad so many feel so disenfranchised.
